Malicious code in @uw010010/vite-tree (npm) 0 The npm package @uw010010/vite-tree is a malicious typosquatting package impersonating the legitimate vite package. It copies vite's metadata and README to appear authentic. The package contains obfuscated code that executes on every invocation of its vite binary, sending requests to an attacker-controlled server, decoding and executing arbitrary code, and spawning a hidden detached child process for persistence. This results in arbitrary code execution on the developer's machine and stealthy persistence mechanisms.
