MAL-2026-10580: Malicious code in ethers-core (npm) 0 The ethers-core npm package versions 6.13.5 and 6.13.7 contain malicious code that exfiltrates sensitive installer secrets such as private keys, mnemonics, AWS and GitHub tokens, and credential files to an attacker-controlled Telegram bot. The malware attempts to drain compromised Ethereum and Bitcoin wallets by sending transactions to hardcoded attacker addresses. It establishes persistence on infected systems by modifying shell startup files and creating autostart entries, while continuously polling an attacker webhook. This is a case of a typosquatting malicious package impersonating the popular ethers library. Join the discussion | GCVE Database | 07/14/2026, 12:55:50 UTC Added: 07/15/2026, 12:37:10 UTC |
