Malicious code in @vboxdev/common (npm) 0 The npm package @vboxdev/common version 1.0.73 contains malicious code that executes when the module is imported. The code queries Ethereum JSON-RPC endpoints for transactions from a hardcoded attacker wallet, reconstructs an IP address from transaction data, and fetches further payloads from that address. These payloads are XOR-decoded and executed, enabling persistent remote code execution on any machine that imports this package. The attacker can rotate the command and control (C2) endpoint by publishing new blockchain transactions, maintaining control over infected systems.
