Malicious code in @zahlen/checkout-angular (npm) 0 The npm package @zahlen/checkout-angular version 0.1.4 contains malicious code appended to its legitimate export. This code uses obfuscated eval and base64 encoding to hide its behavior, dynamically importing Node.js modules to evade static analysis. It queries an Ethereum smart contract to retrieve attacker-controlled host and port information, then connects to those hosts to download and execute arbitrary code via child_process.spawn. This creates a remote code execution channel triggered when the package's ESM module is imported in any Node.js context.
