Malicious code in eth-crypto-utils (npm) 0 The npm package eth-crypto-utils version 1.0.0 contains malicious code that, upon import, sends an HTTPS POST request to a hardcoded external endpoint. This request transmits a JSON payload including the full environment variables, the hostname, the username, and the home directory of the host system. This behavior occurs without user consent and is unrelated to the package's advertised cryptographic functionality. The exposure of environment variables can leak sensitive credentials such as AWS keys, GitHub tokens, and CI secrets.
