The quorvex npm package versions 0.2.0 and 0.2.1 contain malicious code that drops a base64-encoded Windows executable to the user's Startup folder on Windows hosts with more than 4GB of RAM. This executable, named vite-native-helper.exe, is designed to run automatically at user logon, establishing persistence. The package uses obfuscation and sandbox evasion techniques to ensure the payload executes when the module is imported. This behavior is hidden under a misleading package description and filename to avoid detection.
