Malicious code in shift-sdk-v5 (npm) 0 The npm package shift-sdk-v5 version 5.0.1 contains malicious code that executes a postinstall script collecting extensive environment and system information. This includes hostname, usernames, sudo user status, home and working directories, internal network interfaces, DNS domain, CI environment indicators, and environment variables related to cloud providers and credentials. The collected data is sent unencrypted to a hardcoded IP address. The package impersonates a legitimate scoped trading API client to increase installation likelihood.
