Malicious code in simplipayng (npm) 0 The simplipayng npm package version 1.0.8 contains malicious code that executes arbitrary remote code. The code uses an obfuscated eval(atob(...)) payload that queries an Ethereum blockchain address for encoded IP addresses, then fetches and executes XOR-encoded JavaScript from those IPs in a detached Node.js subprocess. This allows an attacker controlling the on-chain address to run arbitrary code on any project that requires this package.
