Malicious code in statist-browser-typed-client-rubliq.platform.keycloak (npm) 0 The npm package statist-browser-typed-client-rubliq.platform.keycloak masquerades as a legitimate Keycloak typed client but contains malicious code that executes a binary dropper upon require(). It reconstructs obfuscated URLs to download binaries from Cloudflare Workers hosts or uses a DNS-TXT record covert channel as a fallback. The binaries are saved to temporary directories with disguised names, given executable permissions, and executed detached from the main process. The package also includes telemetry-related environment variable checks to disguise its behavior. This results in installer-side arbitrary code execution rather than providing any Keycloak functionality.
