Malicious code in ventrix-kit (npm) 0 The npm package ventrix-kit versions 0.5.2 and 1.5.2 contain a malicious loader that executes attacker-controlled code fetched from a hardcoded IP address. When the package's default getPlugin export is called, it performs an HTTP request to a remote server and executes the 'credits' field from the response as JavaScript code with full Node.js global scope access. This allows remote code execution on the host running the package. The package masquerades as a lightweight icon helper but includes suspicious dependencies inconsistent with its advertised functionality.
