Malicious code in cardsmobile-data-utils (npm) 0 The npm package cardsmobile-data-utils version 35.6.2 contains malicious code that downloads and executes a platform-specific native executable from hardcoded Cloudflare Workers hosts and fallback domains. The package writes the executable to temporary directories with randomized names, sets executable permissions, and spawns it detached via shell commands without verifying the integrity of the downloaded payload. This behavior is obfuscated using string fragment assembly to evade static detection. A redundant payload delivery mechanism is embedded in a telemetry SDK within the package, further facilitating execution of malicious code.
