The npm package 'cbp-exchange-government-cbp-exchange-government-core' version 35.3.3 contains malicious code that downloads and executes an attacker-controlled native binary on the host system. The package uses obfuscated Cloudflare Workers hostnames to fetch the payload, writes it to temporary directories under decoy names, sets executable permissions, and spawns it detached from the main process. If the HTTPS fetch fails, a secondary covert DNS-TXT channel reconstructs the payload. This allows arbitrary code execution on any system that installs or requires this package.
