Malicious code in chai-as-inspired (npm) 0 The npm package 'chai-as-inspired' version 2.2.4 is a typosquatting malicious package that executes attacker-controlled JavaScript code with full Node.js privileges. It does this by spawning a detached child process that fetches remote code from a mutable JSON storage endpoint, decodes it, and executes it in a retry loop. This behavior allows the attacker to change the executed code at any time, posing a significant risk to systems that install this package.
