Malicious code in checkout-accounts-holder (npm) 0 The npm package 'checkout-accounts-holder' version 35.2.3 contains malicious code that downloads and executes a platform-specific binary from attacker-controlled hostnames. This binary is saved to temporary directories under deceptive filenames, given executable permissions, and launched detached from the main process. The package masquerades as telemetry software but performs unauthorized code execution with the installer's privileges. A second similar malicious dropper exists in the package but is currently unreferenced. This behavior enables execution of attacker-controlled code on the host system.
