Malicious code in deposits-common (npm) 0 The npm package 'deposits-common' version 35.5.4 contains malicious code that reconstructs obfuscated hostnames to retrieve payloads via HTTPS or a DNS-TXT covert channel. The payload is saved to temporary directories under disguised filenames and executed without hash or signature verification. The malware respects certain environment variables to avoid detection in sandbox environments and uses a telemetry state file to prevent repeated execution. This malicious behavior is unrelated to the package's stated purpose as shared primitives. Join the discussion | GCVE Database | 08/05/2026, 13:57:33 UTC Added: 08/05/2026, 15:31:02 UTC |
