Malicious code in devplatform-select-fields (npm)
0

The npm package devplatform-select-fields version 35.2.6 contains malicious code that executes a binary dropper whenever the package is required. The dropper reconstructs command and control (C2) hostnames, downloads a platform-specific payload via HTTPS, and can also use a covert DNS TXT record channel to retrieve the payload. The payload is saved to temporary directories under misleading filenames, made executable, and launched detached from the main process. The package masquerades as legitimate but performs no advertised functionality. No patch or remediation details are provided.
