Malicious code in beaver-ui-search-dropdown (npm) 0 The npm package 'beaver-ui-search-dropdown' version 35.4.5 is a malicious package masquerading as a UI dropdown library. Upon requiring the package, it executes a hidden script that downloads and runs an attacker-controlled binary payload specific to the host platform. This payload is saved under disguised filenames in temporary directories and executed detached from the main process. The package uses obfuscation techniques such as fragmented hostnames and misleading filenames to evade detection.
