Malicious code in akamai-sensorv2 (npm)
0

The npm package akamai-sensorv2 version 1.0.0 contains malicious code hidden via steganographic encoding in a source comment. This code is decoded and executed with full access to Node.js APIs, enabling arbitrary code execution on the host. Additionally, the package fetches attacker-controlled data from a public Google Calendar feed, allowing dynamic remote command and control. The package impersonates Akamai's legitimate telemetry product but performs opaque payload execution and remote control, posing a severe risk to users.
