Malicious code in bigops-plugin-notification-builder (npm)
0

The bigops-plugin-notification-builder npm package version 35.1.3 contains malicious code that, upon import, downloads and executes a platform-specific binary from obfuscated and suspicious external hosts. The payload is fetched either directly from Cloudflare Workers hosts or reconstructed from base64-encoded DNS TXT records if HTTPS fetching fails. The binary is saved to disguised temporary files, given executable permissions, and executed without any signature or hash verification. The malicious behavior is hidden using string splitting and obfuscation techniques to evade detection. A similar dropper mechanism is also embedded under an 'analytics SDK' disguise in the package.
