Malicious code in bitcoinjs-wallet (npm) 0 The npm package [email protected] is a malicious typosquat of bitcoinjs-lib that steals environment credentials upon being required. It collects system information and environment variables, encodes this data, and exfiltrates it via an HTTPS request to the Telegram Bot API using a hardcoded bot token and chat ID. The package attempts to hide its behavior by re-exporting bitcoinjs-lib if present or exposing stub wallet APIs. This results in credential theft from environment variables such as AWS, NPM, GitHub tokens, and other secrets.
