Malicious code in tailwindcss-hide-scrollbar (npm) 0 The npm package tailwindcss-hide-scrollbar versions 2.5.3 and 2.5.4 contains malicious code embedded in its main module. This code executes an obfuscated payload on every import or require, which performs unauthorized network communication and spawns child processes. The payload interacts with Ethereum JSON-RPC methods and queries blockchain explorer APIs, behavior unrelated to the legitimate CSS utility functionality. The package name is a typosquat of the legitimate tailwind-scrollbar-hide plugin, indicating an attempt to deceive users into installing it.
