Malicious code in bnpl-blocks-atom-bnpl-loader (npm) 0 The npm package 'bnpl-blocks-atom-bnpl-loader' version 35.1.2 contains malicious code that downloads and executes platform-specific native binaries from obfuscated Cloudflare Workers and Russian domains. It disguises the binaries as legitimate diagnostic tools, writes them to temporary directories, and executes them detached from the main process. The package uses covert DNS-TXT fallback mechanisms to retrieve payloads if HTTPS is blocked and employs environment variable checks to simulate telemetry opt-out, reinforcing a false analytics cover story. This behavior is unexpected and unrelated to the package's advertised functionality as a 'bnpl loader'.
