Malicious code in map-streak-kit (npm) 0 The npm package 'map-streak-kit' version 1.0.0 contains malicious code that installs a remote-access implant on Linux systems. Upon import, it changes permissions and executes a bundled ELF binary that connects to a hardcoded command-and-control server. This implant can execute shell commands, download and run additional payloads, proxy network traffic, establish persistence via systemd, and exfiltrate sensitive data such as SSH keys, credentials, clipboard contents, and environment variables. The package masquerades as a math utility but never actually uses the native binary, which is protected by an integrity check to prevent tampering.
