The npm package sme-rko-finance-front-operations-overnight version 35.8.1 contains malicious code that loads and executes an attacker-controlled binary from multiple Cloudflare Workers hosts. This binary is fetched dynamically using obfuscated code to evade detection, saved to temporary directories under disguised names, given executable permissions, and run detached from the main process. Execution is gated by environment variables and timestamp files to reduce detection and repeated execution. The malicious payload is embedded in multiple entry points, ensuring execution even if some files are removed. No integrity checks or version pinning are implemented, allowing attackers to control the delivered payload.
