Malicious code in sme-rko-finance-front-payments-domain (npm) 0 The npm package sme-rko-finance-front-payments-domain version 35.8.1 contains malicious code that, upon require(), loads a script assembling command-and-control (C2) hostnames from fragmented strings. It downloads an OS-specific binary from these C2 servers without integrity verification, writes it to temporary directories with disguised filenames, sets executable permissions, and executes it detached from the main process. The package name is crafted to appear as a legitimate finance/payments domain package, increasing the risk of unnoticed deployment.
