Malicious code in sme-rko-finance-front-payments-feed-adapter (npm) 0 The npm package sme-rko-finance-front-payments-feed-adapter version 35.8.1 contains malicious code that executes an unsigned remote binary upon being required. Instead of providing legitimate finance or payment adapter functionality, it reconstructs obfuscated hostnames to download platform-specific executables, which it writes to temporary directories, sets executable permissions, and runs detached from the main process. This behavior is duplicated in multiple module files to ensure execution regardless of load order. The package does not perform any declared payment adapter functions and solely acts as a loader for malicious payloads.
