Malicious code in sysc1 (npm) 0 The sysc1 npm package versions 1.0.0 and 1.0.1 masquerades as a system binary configuration tool but contains malicious code that silently installs Python and several Python libraries. It runs a Python script that creates a transparent overlay with stealth controls, captures screenshots, reads clipboard data, and scrapes text from other applications including Chrome. The collected data is exfiltrated to a hardcoded attacker-controlled endpoint, representing a coordinated surveillance dropper.
