Malicious code in nice-utils-helper (npm) 0 The npm package nice-utils-helper version 1.0.0 contains malicious code that executes during its postinstall lifecycle. It performs unauthorized reconnaissance by sending requests to multiple cloud instance metadata service endpoints and collects environment information such as hostname and current working directory. The package then writes marker files across multiple directory levels, leaving persistent artifacts unrelated to its advertised functionality as a game metadata utility.
