Malicious code in api-rs-tuils (npm) 0 The npm package api-rs-tuils version 2.1.6 contains malicious code executed via a postinstall hook. This code fetches an attacker SSH public key and appends it to the victim's authorized_keys file, enabling persistent remote SSH access by modifying firewall rules. It also exfiltrates sensitive configuration files and environment data from the victim's machine to attacker-controlled servers. The package uses obfuscation techniques to hide its malicious behavior and resembles a typosquat with no legitimate functionality.
