Malicious code in mutex-plus (npm) 0 The mutex-plus npm package version 3.0.2 contains malicious code hidden in its Mutex.js file. This code decrypts and executes a concealed payload when a specially crafted callback with a specific jobId is passed to the runExclusive() function. The payload is AES-256-GCM encrypted and only decryptable with the correct jobId, enabling remote code execution on the host running the package.
