Malicious code in emoji-prints-fancy (npm) 0 The npm package emoji-prints-fancy version 5.6.4 contains malicious code that decrypts a hardcoded ciphertext and executes the resulting shell command silently on the host system when the package is imported or required. The malicious payload is concealed using AES-256-CBC encryption with a fixed passphrase, salt, and IV, and is triggered during module load without user awareness. Several decoy helper functions are present to obfuscate the malicious execution path. This results in silent execution of arbitrary commands with suppressed output.
