The npm package 'mc-provider' impersonates a legitimate Cosmos chain registry package but instead loads and re-exports malicious code from an unrelated package named 'supersig'. This results in attacker-controlled RPC and signing operations being silently inserted into dependent applications. Installation of this package compromises the host system, potentially exposing all stored secrets and keys.
