Malicious code in @usaa-grp-personal-profile/personal-profile-common (npm) 0 A malicious npm package named @usaa-grp-personal-profile/personal-profile-common at version 999.0.0 was published with preinstall and postinstall scripts that execute beacon.js. This script collects host information such as hostname, username, and current working directory, encodes this data, and exfiltrates it via DNS queries to an attacker-controlled domain. The package appears to be designed for dependency confusion attacks targeting internal registries. The exfiltration occurs automatically upon installation without user interaction.
