Malicious code in @medisend/shared (npm) 0 The npm package @medisend/shared version 0.0.1-security-research contains malicious code that executes a postinstall script. This script sends the installer's hostname to an external collector via an outbound HTTP request during installation. Although the beacon URL is not fully configured, the behavior resembles reconnaissance activity typical of dependency confusion attacks. Systems with this package installed should be considered fully compromised, and all secrets and keys on those systems should be rotated immediately. Removal of the package does not guarantee complete remediation due to potential further compromise. Join the discussion | GCVE Database | 08/24/2026, 16:47:15 UTC Added: 09/08/2026, 04:37:37 UTC |
