The npm package 'confluence-rest' version 30.0.0 contains a malicious self-referential dependency pointing to an external URL. This design allows arbitrary code hosted at that URL to execute during package installation without integrity checks. The package's shipped code is inert, making the external URL the main vector for delivering malicious payloads. Any system with this package installed is considered fully compromised, requiring immediate secret and key rotation and package removal.
