The npm package vitest-chalk-pro version 10.0.7 contains malicious code that executes attacker-controlled JavaScript during installation. It uses a postinstall hook to spawn a detached, silent child process that fetches and executes code from a remote, mutable source. The package masquerades as a utility related to vitest and chalk but is actually a disguised dropper resembling nodemailer.
