The npm package [email protected] is a malicious stub that executes harmful code during installation. Its preinstall script collects environment variables related to credentials, encodes them, and sends them to a remote server. Additionally, on non-Windows systems, it opens a reverse shell to the attacker, allowing remote command execution.
