The npm package 'fuels-core' version 1.0.0 contains malicious code that collects system information such as the current user, hostname, and platform, then sends this data along with the package name to a hardcoded external URL without user consent. This behavior is consistent with reconnaissance activity typical of typosquatting or dependency confusion attacks. The package openly states this data exfiltration in its package.json description. Installing or running this package can lead to full system compromise, and all secrets and keys on the affected system should be rotated immediately.
