Malicious code in cat-sis2go-utils (npm) 0 The npm package cat-sis2go-utils versions 99.0.0 and 99.1.0 contain malicious lifecycle scripts that execute during installation. These scripts perform a DNS lookup and send a JSON beacon with the installer's hostname and process context to an external server controlled by the attacker. The package is identified as a dependency-confusion proof of concept and enables arbitrary code execution on the host machine, resulting in machine fingerprinting by a third party.
