The npm package etoro-aggregator version 999.0.0 contains malicious code in a preinstall.js script that executes automatically during installation. This script sends the installer's hostname, username, and current working directory in plaintext HTTP requests to an attacker-controlled IP address. The package appears to be a dependency-confusion lure, designed to gather reconnaissance information from victims whose internal package names collide with this malicious package.
