The npm package 'banana-stand' version 9.9.11 contains malicious code that exfiltrates host identifiers via DNS queries to an attacker-controlled domain. The package's install lifecycle hook and main entry point execute code that collects system information such as username, hostname, and current working directory, then encodes and sends this data out-of-band. The exfiltration code is intentionally obfuscated using runtime decoding of byte arrays. Any system with this package installed or running is considered fully compromised, and all secrets on that system should be rotated immediately from a different machine.
