Malicious code in cerebrum-core (npm) 0 The npm package 'cerebrum-core' version 1.1.0 contains malicious code that executes during installation. Its postinstall script decodes a base64 payload into a tarball placed outside the package directory and extracts it into the project root, enabling arbitrary file writes and potential remote code execution. The package masquerades as a helper utility for Vite but is a supply-chain dropper designed to compromise systems. Removal of the package does not guarantee full remediation due to possible persistent compromise. Join the discussion | GCVE Database | 05/21/2026, 01:06:31 UTC Added: 08/18/2026, 13:39:40 UTC |
