The npm package 'http-uploader-dev' contains malicious code executed during installation via a preinstall script that runs arbitrary commands using the Bun runtime. The current payload launches calculator applications on various OSes as proof of concept, but the mechanism allows execution of any attacker-chosen commands at install time. This package has suspicious metadata and uses an alternate runtime dropper pattern. Installing this package can lead to full system compromise.
