The npm package 'qr-code-styling-temp' is a malicious typosquatting package impersonating the legitimate 'qr-code-styling' library. It executes code during installation and runtime that collects system information such as username, hostname, and current directory, then exfiltrates this data via DNS queries to an attacker-controlled domain. This behavior occurs on every npm install and require call, potentially compromising the host system. The package's author email and exfiltration domain share the same attacker-controlled domain, confirming malicious intent. Systems with this package installed should be considered fully compromised.
