Malicious code in autotel-pact (npm) 0 The autotel-pact npm package versions 0.2.2 and 1.0.3 contain malicious code known as the Miasma malware. This malware is a self-propagating worm that spreads by abusing weaponized binding.gyp files to execute code during package installation, bypassing security tools that inspect only lifecycle scripts. It attempts to exfiltrate credentials and OIDC tokens for cloud and registry services and propagates by compromising other packages or committing backdoors to GitHub repositories. Any system with this package installed should be considered fully compromised, and secrets must be rotated immediately from a different machine. Removing the package does not guarantee removal of all malicious software resulting from the infection.
