Malicious code in kraken-ui (npm)
0

The kraken-ui npm package version 999.0.0 is a malicious package designed as a dependency confusion proof of concept. When loaded, it collects sensitive host information including hostname, username, home directory, installation path, DNS servers, and full package.json contents, then sends this data via HTTPS POST to an attacker-controlled server. This behavior occurs automatically upon requiring the module. Systems with this package installed should be considered fully compromised, and all secrets and keys must be rotated from a clean environment. Removal of the package alone does not guarantee elimination of all malicious components.
