The gpt-sdk npm package contains malicious code that executes during installation. Its postinstall.js script collects extensive reconnaissance data from the host environment, including network and Active Directory details, user profile information, VPN client signals, and CI/CD environment variables. This data is sent unencrypted to a remote server, enabling attackers to map corporate networks and development environments. The package's main module is otherwise empty, and the README falsely claims no data collection occurs. This behavior constitutes a supply-chain reconnaissance threat.
