Malicious code in tn-advertisement (npm) 0 The npm package 'tn-advertisement' version 5.0.0 contains malicious code that performs an unconditional HTTP request to an external unique subdomain upon being required. This behavior reveals the installer's public IP and DNS resolver to an attacker-controlled server, indicating code execution on the installer's machine. The package has no legitimate functionality and is consistent with reconnaissance payloads used in supply-chain attacks. Installing this package can lead to full compromise of the affected system, requiring immediate secret and key rotation. Removal of the package alone may not fully remediate the compromise.
