Malicious code in utils-common-helpers (npm) 0 The npm package 'utils-common-helpers' version 1.0.0 contains malicious code that executes a postinstall lifecycle hook. This hook performs an unencrypted HTTP request to a suspicious IP address, disclosing the installer's public IP and install timing. The package's functional code does not align with its advertised purpose, indicating it is a lure to collect installation telemetry. Systems with this package installed should be considered fully compromised, and all secrets and keys on those systems should be rotated immediately.
