Malicious code in llm-traces-app (npm) 0 The npm package llm-traces-app version 1.0.1 contains malicious code that executes during installation. Its preinstall script runs code that collects host system information and reads sensitive files such as /etc/passwd and /etc/hosts. This data is then exfiltrated via HTTPS POST to a domain controlled by the package publisher, enabling out-of-band data capture. The package acts as a supply-chain exfiltration beacon, compromising any system where it is installed. Removal of the package does not guarantee full remediation due to potential further compromise.
